Fiesta!

August 1st, 2007

I designed this three strand necklace and matching earrings totally on a whim….and it turned out to be one of my favorites! I started with the strand of Red Howlite, then added the second strand made with Turquoise and Garnets. The third strand is made out of oval pieces of Citrine separated with sterling silver spacers. The matching earrings have a little bit of everything linked together so that they really dangle. As suggested by a Natural Beauty Jewelry enthusiast (my brother Matt), this design fully deserves the name “Fiesta!”.

Pink Freshwater Pearls, Peach Moonstone and Turquoise

July 27th, 2007

I used pink freshwater coin pearls, peach moonstone and a little bit of turquoise in this bracelet. I like this bracelet because the pearls reflect pink, peach and turquoise colors in their reflective coating, something that cannot be captured in the picture very well. I catch myself staring at this bracelet when I’m wearing it, caught up in the unique color combination that somehow works. I hope to come up with a matching necklace and earrings to go with this bracelet soon.

Faceted Turquoise Dangles

July 17th, 2007

These earrings are made with three teardrop shaped turquoise stones each. They hang individually from the earwire to create a dangling effect.

Turquoise is one of my favorite gemstones both to wear and to design with. I often find myself going a little “turquoise crazy” when creating new jewelry designs. I think that these earrings are wonderfully simple, yet especially eye-catching when worn.
