Common Necklace Lengths

August 28th, 2008

Knowing what necklace length is right for you can be hard to determine. Depending on your size, different necklaces may fall in completely different locations on you than on other women.

I recommend measuring the distance around your neck to know what your minimum is and then trying on standard sizes from there to get an idea of what is comfortable for you.

If you need an uncommon necklace length, we are happy to custom size Natural Beauty Jewelry when possible to accomodate your needs. Depending on the extent to which you need a size altered from its original, additional fees may apply. Just email us at info@naturalbeautyjewelry.com to request custom sizing options and information.

Below is a visual aid of the common necklace lengths that are available in the marketplace and the general area where they typically lay.

Aquamarine Ocean Wave

February 29th, 2008

Beth PiermantierBeth PiermantierI recently designed this necklace and earrings using beautiful aquamarine stones and white freshwater pearls. I first presented the piece to a certain someone and they exclaimed, “It looks like an ocean wave!”… and what a perfect description.

When I tried on the necklace for the first time, it took on a life of its own and the two longer strands overlapped each other. This unique design was unintentional but a quality that myself and many people enjoy about it. It is a fairly new piece, but will be up on the website soon, so check back soon!

Are your Bracelets or Necklaces Too Small?

February 20th, 2008

Do you have jewelry that you would love to wear except it is just a little bit too small for you? An easy and convenient solution is to purchase a chain extender that can be attached to any necklace or bracelet to make it larger. Depending on how much larger you want to make that piece of jewelry, you can purchase a 1″, 2″ or 3″ chain extender from Natural Beauty Jewelry and simply attach it to the clasp as pictured below. These chain extenders are sterling silver and easy to use!

Fresh Spring Colors

February 9th, 2008

Spring Assorted StonesHere is a new twist on an exciting design! I re-designed this necklace and earrings using Citrine, Peridot, Blue Howlite and a brite blue Turquoise. I also made the earrings so that they hang the opposite way from a small sterling silver hoop instead of facing forward with the filigree component used in the previous design.

Feel fresh and clean wearing this necklace and earrings designed especially for springtime!

Tourmaline Chips and White Pearls

August 7th, 2007

This design is made with chips of multi-colored Tourmaline and white freshwater pearls. Each section is hand wire wrapped to sterling silver chain links. This piece can also be worn two ways, either wrapped around twice or as one long necklace (as pictured). The matching post earrings each have a cluster of Tourmaline chips hanging at the bottom.

Pink Freshwater Pearls

August 7th, 2007

This necklace is made with sterling silver chain and pink freshwater pearls. I am really excited about this design, because it can be worn two different ways. The first (which I like best) is looped around the neck twice as pictured. Or, if you want you can wear it as one long loop which is approximately 34″ long. I like the versatility of being able to change it up, so I think I am going to design a couple of different designs with the same functionality.

Wire Wrapped Iceflake Quartz

August 1st, 2007

Large pieces of tumbled Iceflake Quartz are individually wire wrapped and connected together to make this substantial necklace. I like the way you can really feel the weight of the stones hanging around your neck. This necklace can be worn with virtually any color and for any occasion. The picture below gives a close up of the Iceflake Quartz, where you can see the transulscent crackles inside the stones.

Fiesta!

August 1st, 2007

I designed this three strand necklace and matching earrings totally on a whim….and it turned out to be one of my favorites! I started with the strand of Red Howlite, then added the second strand made with Turquoise and Garnets. The third strand is made out of oval pieces of Citrine separated with sterling silver spacers. The matching earrings have a little bit of everything linked together so that they really dangle. As suggested by a Natural Beauty Jewelry enthusiast (my brother Matt), this design fully deserves the name “Fiesta!”.
